Writing nonfiction was never what author Nenia Corcoran intended to do with her writing career, but, occasionally, she feels so passionate about a topic that she can’t not express her feelings in words. Thus, this collection of essays on her experience as a woman trying to navigate the world of chronic illness and disability spilled out.

Through this narrative, she explores topics like sexism in healthcare, accessibility, and the general challenges that relatively healthy people might never give any thought, but plague the lives of the millions of people suffering with chronic pain, chronic illness, and the many forms of disabilities.

This is not intended to be a one-size-fits-all story of disability. It is merely one woman’s attempt at voicing her individual struggles in hopes that others suffering in silence might feel heard.
